Chelan to Manson Corridor

Snapshot: The Lake Chelan Valley includes the City of Chelan, at the east end of the lake, and Manson, 7 miles to the west along SR 150, as well as agricultural areas between the two communities.

SR 150 is the primary public right-of-way between Chelan and Manson. The highway is a narrow corridor with a pinch point at Rocky Point near the western edge of the Chelan Urban Growth Area. An off-highway connection between Chelan and Manson exists but uses a circuitous county road network with steep grades.

Previous Work:

  • Within Chelan city limits, the City has identified a preferred alignment for the Northshore Trail between Lake Chelan and SR 150 from Bighorn Way to Rocky Point. An existing 10-foot pathway connects downtown Chelan to Bighorn Way, and extensions across downtown Chelan to the south shore of the lake are underway.
  • The Chelan County Multi-Use Pathways Plan identified a conceptual alignment west of Rocky Point into Manson following the SR 150 right-of-way, but the western end of a pathway to Manson has not been determined.
